Set the scene with neutral tablecloths and runners to help ground a varied color scheme, and then add texture with centerpieces, glassware, and flatware. Or, skip the linens altogether for a modern and minimalist approach that celebrates the simplistic beauty of your wood table.

For us, a vibrant centerpiece helps bring the table to life—and lets you put your personality on display. Create a varied, lush arrangement with local vegetation set on a simple table runner. Build out your centerpieces with fresh cut branches that will look at home for Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukah, and even New Year’s. Then, mix in some multi-height candle holders to add warmth and richness to the table.

HINT OF COLOR:

When it came time to finalize our color scheme, we knew we wanted something that would complement the natural wood table and let the greenery speak for itself. Aged brass and black cast iron created a gentle contrast without overpowering the table. For a little personality that would stand out, we adorned the brass candle holders with soft white and sage green taper candles from Meadowbrook, and added some woven, sage green napkins—they were the perfect finishing touch!

SEATING ARRANGEMENTS:

Finally, avoid any confusion, hesitancy, or even drama by creating a seating arrangement for guests. Simple, handwritten place cards add a sentimental detail while also helping to ease introductions between guests. Add a sprig of rosemary or a few pomegranates to fold in another natural element to the decor.
